A bamboo house, hidden in fifty species of palm.
Two storeys of grown-on-site bamboo, plus a modern A/C addition. Sleeps 4 across a king and a queen. Made for couples, a couple plus a kid, or a family of four who’d rather not share a bedroom.
The Garden House is one of seven on Caribe Verde — a private 10-acre Caribbean ecolodge with botanical gardens, 300m of private beachfront on Punta Uva, gated reception, EV charging, and a 5-leaf sustainable tourism certification. Garden House shares a private gate with the Beach Suite.

Guadua aculeata.
The strongest bamboo in Central America.
Tensile strength comparable to mild steel. A 50+ year lifespan when kept dry and ventilated, which the open Caribbean canopy does for free. Each Guadua culm reaches its full structural strength in three years — about as fast as plywood, twenty times faster than oak. Dutch designer Henk van der Vet drew the current Garden House in 2018; every pole was sourced within 40 km of the lodge.
What grows around the house.
Three meters tall on a good year. Hummingbirds visit at dawn.
Fifty-plus varieties across the property. Drink them green or wait for them brown.
Pods ripen orange. The neighbour harvests for the local chocolate cooperative.
Flowers a violent red. Pollinated by hummingbirds and bananaquits.
Deep green leaves with silver veins. Native to wet rainforest understorey.
The smell that defines the Caribbean at dusk. Star-shaped petals.
Everything in the house.
Two for the modern wing.
Four for the whole house.
Reservations through the lodge’s Cloudbeds calendar. The widget defaults to the modern wing — toggle “more than 2 guests” to switch to the whole-house rate automatically.
